Use the puzzle as simple a way to passively expose your children to the Arabic numbers while they are mastering their fine motor skills.

Engage verbally with your child, as he/she places the numbers, say the number and show on your fingers how many that represents.

Don’t forget to throw in an occasional word or two of encouragement; “Bravo Ah-layk” for the boys or “Bravo, Ah-lay-kee” for the girls.

  1. wa-Had
  2. ith-nayn (formal), ti-nayn (informal)
  3. tha-laa-tha (formal) or ti-laa-teh (informal)
  4. ar-ba-‘a’

  7. suh-ba-‘a’
  8. tha-man-ee-yeh, ta-man-yeh
  9. tiss-sa-‘a’
  10. ‘a’sh-a-ra
