Here is my list of iPhone apps that I have on my kids’ iPads. I feel like good ones are far and few between so I would love to hear suggestions in the comments below!
Gus on the Go: Modern Standard Arabic– nice graphics, simple, cute. Kids can learn animal, food, transportation, clothes, numbers, colors, parts of the body, shapes – $3.99
AppyKids Play School Learn Arabic – has letters alef-kha for free and then you can unlock all the letters for $4.99. It has a cute story in formal Arabic, followed by animals and letters listening followed by matching with the sound and the progressing to matching letters to the picture with no sound prompts. Cute, colorful and engaging. There’s also Zee’s Alif Baa by the same company. It’s a bit more game-filled rather than academic. Initially free, $2.99 unlocks letters past jeem.
Train Arabia: Game Bee Spell (or search for قطار الكلمات) – The simplest level shows kids a picture and then the letters that they have to put in order. A little buggy but free and very cute! Haven’t tried it on the kids yet but looks promising for my early elementary school child who is currently working to put letters together.
