This is a great song to help practice the letter “ط”Taw as this sound is repeated frequently.
I first heard this song sung by Raneen Hanna on her CD and it is my favorite version still.
I also learned it is a song used in a game that resembles Duck, Duck, Goose. Similarly, all but one of the children sit in a circle facing in and one child is chosen to walk the perimeter of the circle. In this version. though, the walker is carrying an item (a hat or a handkerchief) and is supposed to surreptitiously place it behind somebody’s back as he/she is walking the circle. It’s not clear who or how is to call out where it is at, or how the next walker is chosen . . .but I think if, once the object is place, if that child does not notice and the walker has walked a full circle, then that child is the new walker and if somebody checks or looks and the hat is not there, then they become the next walker.
Here is a video of some one singing and playing (but again, unclear to me the rules).
