These wars have ballooned the US’ military budget and lined the pockets of wealthy warmongerers as conditions for working people deteriorate. Over the same period\, the US government has financially\, politically\, and militarily backed Israel’s occupation and colonization of Palestine\, including through its full support for Israel’s genocide in Gaza. In turn\, people across the political spectrum have begun to question the US government’s continued commitment for a foreign policy predicated on endless war\, devastating interventions\, and unconditional support for Israel\, regardless of the administration in power. \nThis 4-part course from the Palestinian Youth Movement will study the history and present of US intervention in the Middle East to equip participants with a deeper understanding of US imperialism\, Israel’s role within it\, and its consequences for working people in the US and around the world. It seeks to illuminate how it is the imperialist system\, and not just the ideological positions or policies of any one politician in office\, that keeps America at war and invested in the destabilization of the Middle East.
