SUMMARY:Movie: The Hour of Liberation Has Arrived
DESCRIPTION:THE TEN PILLARS OF BEACON: ARMED STRUGGLE \nCinema can be used as a vessel for resistance\, a tool to hasten the breaking of chains\, a beacon call for global transformation towards new collectively-forged futures. \nIn the late 60s\, Dhofar rose up against the British-backed Sultanate of Oman\, in a democratic\, feminist guerrilla movement. Director Heiny Srour and her team crossed 500 miles of desert and mountains by foot\, under bombardment by the British Royal Air Force\, to reach the conflict zone and capture this rare record of a now mostly-forgotten war.

SUMMARY:Mitchum Yacoub and the Brass Empire
DESCRIPTION:Mitchum Yacoub an Egyptian-American multi-instrumentalist\, producer\, and DJ based out of\nSan Diego\, CA. As a lifelong drummer that has supported many projects in the vein of Afrobeat\,\nSoul\, Funk\, and Reggae\, he’s been slow-brewing a unique feel for roots and dance music.\nInspired by artists like Fela Kuti\, Dr. Dre\, and James Brown\, his music harkens back to Africa in\nthe 70’s with the bass and drums turned up a notch. Strong\, repetitive grooves layered with\nAfro-Latin percussion and vibrant\, tightly executed horn lines that call all dancers to the floor.\nSince beginning his first live performances in late 2019\, Yacoub has played alongside roots\nmusic heavies like The Wailers\, Antibalas\, Jungle Fire\, and Los Gaiteros de San Jacinto. In\n2022\, his group supported Seun Kuti for six shows across the U.S.\, while he traded on\npercussion and drum kit for Kuti’s band: Egypt 80 (formerly of Fela Kuti). The experience trained\nhim well in the rhythmic strength of the music and earned him and his band a place in the global\nscene of Afrobeat. Originality\, musicianship\, and a massive sound are three marks keeping\nYacoub’s band on the road and a fast-growing festival favorite. The highly acclaimed release of\nhis debut album\, “Living High in the Brass Empire”\, (2023 All-Town Sound) brings the\nexperience home as a showcase in his unique approach to roots music; forming explosive\nintersections of Afrobeat\, Cumbia\, and Soul that will lift you from your seat and leave you\nwanting more

SUMMARY:Millennials are Killing Capitalism Live on YouTube

We will also talk to Samidoun about the repression they have faced as an organization\, and as individuals associated with the organization\, since October 7th. Throughout these 300 days\, a projected 186\,000+ Palestinians have been murdered by the Zionist entity\, the bombardment of the Gaza Strip has led to its complete destruction\, and thousands of Palestinians have been imprisoned or disappeared – in addition to the thousands already held in the illegitimate occupation jails. \nThe US government has shown that its commitment is to supporting Israel carry out a genocide. We the people must come out and show that our commitment is to the Palestinian struggle and is only getting stronger\, and that our fight for a free Palestine will never waver. Bring friends\, comrades\, signs\, love for our martyrs\, and above all – bring your readiness to keep fighting and carry our struggle forward. \nNone of us are free until we are all free.
