SUMMARY:One World Summer Language Camp: Learn Arabic\, Chinese or Korean  (2020)  Copy
DESCRIPTION:This language and culture camp focuses on fostering language acquisition\, intercultural understanding\, and a desire for international travel. During the camp\, students will learn basic communicative writing\, reading\, listening\, and speaking skills in classes taught using immersion methodology.  The camp will introduce students to practices and perspectives of the Arabic-\, Korean- and Chinese-speaking world\, as well as the leadership skills that will enable them to become local youth leaders with a global perspective. Students will learn through classroom activities\, guest speakers\, music\, and field trips. The last day of the camp will feature student performances in a culminating showcase for classmates\, family\, and community members. \n\n\nFor those entering 8th – 12th grade!\n\n\nMore details and an application can be found here: https://oneworldnow.formstack.com/forms/summerprogram2020 \nSession One \n\n\n\n\n\n\n– Dates: June 29th – July 17th \n– Courses offered: Chinese 1A\, Arabic 1A\, and Korean 1A \n– Content: the equivalent of a first semester high school class \n– This class is right for: students with no background in the language they are studying. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSession Two\n\n– Dates: July 27th – August 14th \n– Courses offered: Chinese 1B\, Arabic 1B\, and Korean 1B \n– Content: the equivalent of a second semester high school class. \n–This class is right for: Students who completed Level 1A in their language or have equivalent prior knowledge.

SUMMARY:SAWA - Kids' Arabic Summer Camp
DESCRIPTION:We will be starting the Kids’ Arabic Summer Camp on Monday July13. Each day will bring you a different theme and a different adventure. Your kids will be learning about music instruments on MUSIC MONDAY\, create artwork and crafts from the Arab world on TIME FOR ART TUESDAY\, learn about different countries from the Arab world on WONDERFUL WORLD WEDNESDAY\, listen to stories and learn about poetry on THOUGHTFUL THURSDAY and learn to cook arabic dishes with chefs on FOODIE FRIDAY.\n\nWe will be bringing you this content over different platforms\, including live zoom sessions\, facebook and instagram stories and on our SAWA youtube channel. All content will be archived so that you can access it. I will be sending an email the Friday prior to the start of the camp to give you a sample of the following week. We will not be able to update you over email daily\, so please follow us on Facebook SAWA and instagram @sawasocal which will have the most updated content.\n\nPlease reach out to any of us if you have any concerns or want any clarification.
