DESCRIPTION:Fast for Gaza\nDecember 21\, 2023: Sunrise to Sunset\nContinuing every Thursday until a permanent ceasefire is called\n\nWe have had enough.\nThis is a call to fast.\nBecause we have had enough.\nAs Gaza is devastated by \n\nThe loss of countless lives\nThe destruction of homes\, schools\, hospitals\, archives\, mosques\, churches\, and all allegedly safe spaces\nThe blockade of humanitarian aid\, food\, water\, electricity\, and communication\nThe silencing of voices on the ground and around the world\n\nWe are witnessing an unfolding catastrophe in real time. The toll is indescribable\, incalculable\, and indefensible. \nFast for Gaza extends a global invitation to people of all faiths\, and those who adhere to none\, to abstain from food for one day in solidarity with the people of Gaza\, and to break the fast together at sunset. The fast will continue every Thursday until a permanent ceasefire is called. \nWhile you fast: \n\nDonate to humanitarian efforts in Gaza.\nRefrain from spending on non-essential goods\nSpread the word that we have had enough.\nWrite to government and business leaders demanding they recognize this tragedy and support an immediate and permanent ceasefire.\nEducate yourself on BDS (Boycott\, Divest\, Sanction)\, and join the boycott of goods that exploit and oppress Palestininians.\nEducate yourself on and join PACBI (Palestinian Campaign for the Academic and Cultural Boycott of Israel).\nRead and share art\, writing\, films\, and music by Gazan artists.\nBe in community with others who need\, want\, feel a conversation isn’t enough.\nMake Gaza present.\n\n  \nThe Fast for Gaza campaign is organized and sponsored by Mizna\, RAWI (Radius of Arab American Writers)\, W.A.W.O.G.
