SUMMARY:Farm Field Trip 4 Shami Teens
DESCRIPTION:We’re going on a field trip! Shami teens and their caregivers are invited! \nA guided visit to a local farm (Olympia\, WA). This is a culture-tending day to connect with land and food in the context of food justice and sovereignty \nThis event is shaped for youth of Shami/Levantine descent and their caregivers. The activities\, conversations\, and pace are for their safety\, pace\, curiosities\, healing\, and needs. \n \nFor culture healing through relational learning and orienting ourselves as part of the natural world 🌍. A politicized container to weave power and address systemic injustice. \nAs always\, this is a container to honor land\, heal culture\, connect\, and expand towards justice and wellness for all. \nWHAT TO EXPECT \nThe guidance will be tuned to food sovereignty and culture through conversation and contemplation. \nThe flow will be organic based on the invitations of the land\, our hosts\, and the mood of the group. SUMMARY:Wilderness Walk: Berries!
DESCRIPTION:Summer berries are ripe! A wilderness walk focused on native berries\, plant recognition\, and indigenous food culture. Relational. Land-based. Politicized 🍒🍓🫐 \nAs always\, this is a container to honor land\, connect\, and expand towards justice and wellness for all. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nI offer these walks in the greater context of engaging with the today’s crises: climate\, ecological\, and human people.\nIn our urban lives\, hypnotized by modern culture\, we are disconnected from what truly nurtures us. How can we care and prioritize something\, someone from whom we are disconnected? \nWilderness is not only a place “out there\, far from here”.\nWilderness is everywhere. In us\, around us\, and on a downtown concrete block.\nWhen we got confused about how we are part and not apart\, the destruction began.\nThe wilderness of our towns and cities diminished.\nWe have been blessed with the ability to witness this wilderness and be in choice about how to connect and nurture it.

SUMMARY:Mapes Creek Watershed Hike
DESCRIPTION:WELCOME TO MAPES CREEK \nA land and culture tending practice. An ongoing series to learn the process and be in relationship. Guided by indigenous and Social Forestry principals. In collaboration with Green Seattle Partnership 💚🌲\n \nTrillium offers this justice-oriented container as an opportunity to build connections\, learn\, practice\, heal\, create\, and weave resilient communities anchored in land and water. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis time we’re going on a walk! \nA naturalist-led wander through the Mapes Creek Watershed. An activity that supports feeling a sense of place and connection with our forests and waterways. \nTo better understand how this precious gem fits in the city’s landscape. \nTo learn about the history and challenges. \nTo understand our relationship and responsibility. \nTo imagine a future of resilience and mutual thriving. \nWe will start near the Mapes Creek headwaters (South Creston Street SCL substation) and meander through the Kubota Natural area (including the garden)\, by Sturdivant ravine\, and finish at Be’er Sheva Park: the mouth of the creek and the water’s convergence with Lake Washington. \nThis journey will be a little over 2 miles downhill\, with a few short sections of moderate climb. This walk is accessible to folks with moderate ability to move. 50% of the path is unpaved\, with some uneven ground. Sturdy ankles are a must! Youth and children are enthusiastically invited. \nSpots are limited to ensure rich experience for everyone 👂

SUMMARY:Opt Out of Military Recruitment Party
DESCRIPTION:‼️Did you know: High school students’ contact information are automatically being handed over to military recruiters every single year unless they manually opt-out of being recruited? \nJoin us next Monday at Rainier Beach to spread the word on this predatory military practice\, protect students from being a pawn for the U.S. imperialist war machine\, and to drive opt-outs! The deadline to opt out for this academic year in Seattle Public Schools is October 1st\, 2026. \nThere will be food\, music\, and outdoor games\, including pick-up football by our friends at @fedayeenfootball ⚽️ \n📆 Monday\, September 28\n⏰ 5-8 PM\n📍Cultural Stage at *so-called “beersheva” Park (BS Park)\, 8650 55th Ave S. Seattle \nYou can find Opt-out instructions at tinyurl.com/OptOutD9 or via link in bio! \n*Beer al-Sabe بئر السبع is currently an illegal zionist settlement located in historically occupied Palestine\, where thousands of families and homes were forcely displaced. It also happens to be a sister city of Seattle. We reject any normalization of zionist settlements and refuse to call this park by its institutional name.
