In collaboration with Green Seattle Partnership 💚🌲\n \nTrillium offers this justice-oriented container as an opportunity to build connections\, learn\, practice\, heal\, create\, and weave resilient communities anchored in land and water. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTHIS PROJECT IS FOR ANYONE INTERESTED IN: \n\n\nLearning the skills of forest and watershed stewardship and restoration. \n\n\nLearning how to nurture a reciprocal relationship with land. \n\n\nWeaving a resilient community. \n\n\nCultivating a sense of place. \n\n\nLearning about the ecology of this region and how to connect with and identify flora and fauna. \n\n\nTaking meaningful action towards climate\, land\, and social justice. \n\n\nExploring a career in the field of land stewardship. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTHE CREEK \nThese waters run through unceded Duwamish Territory and have been tended by Coast Salish peoples for millennia. We advocate for their justice\, honor their stewardship\, and walk in their footsteps. \nToday\, the creek is tended by many communities of caregivers. \nWe collaborate with them in shared care for the land and in a spirit of respect and humility. \nThe first water drops of Mapes Creek percolate through a remnant second-growth forest in South Seattle\, where we will be visiting and tending. \nIt meanders in the recovering forest and through Kubota Garden\, where it fills a necklace of ponds. \nIt then plunges into a dark pipe as it runs through the Rainier Beach neighborhood. \nIt sees daylight again through Be’er Sheva park as a recovering salmon habitat\, and pours into x̌ačuʔ (Hatchu – Lake Washington). \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPREPARE YOURSELF! \n\n\nWe will be moving through some brush\, uneven surfaces\, and slopes. Dress for the occasion! \n\n\nWe will have access to a restroom and drinking water\, but please bring your own water to start. \n\n\nWe invite you to bring any offerings to the land for ceremony time 🪶💌🌿🖼️✨

DESCRIPTION:Join us on a 25-mile march for Palestinian liberation this Memorial Day weekend\, May 26th 🍉 \n👇Our vision statement: \nAs we grieve more than seventy-five years of unbearable loss of life and freedom in occupied Palestine\, we are coming together to walk 25 miles—the length of Gaza—for justice. \nWe are a group of Palestinians and non-Palestinians; Indigenous and non-Indigenous; Black\, POC\, and white; Jews and non-Jews; Christians\, Buddhists\, and people of many faiths; settlers and immigrants\, living on Duwamish and other Coast Salish land and united in our longing for the liberation of Palestine. We are disabled and abled\, elders and young. We know ableism is at the heart of every genocide\, and we welcome all bodies into this movement. \nWhen we say “freedom from the River to the Sea\,” we call for universal freedom and safety for everyone from the Mediterranean Sea to the Jordan River. We call for universal access to food\, water\, shelter\, education and medical care. We call for freedom of movement and freedom of expression regardless of religion or ethnicity. \nWhen we say “freedom from the River to the Sea\,” we long for true liberation for all peoples beyond false borders. DESCRIPTION:Join us as we walk the entire length of Gaza (25 miles\, 41k) through Seattle as a pilgrimage and a communal act of solidarity with the people of Gaza.\nWe will be joining over 109 cities around the world led by Palestinian Christians during the season of Lent. In Seattle\, our pilgrimage is designed to be inclusive\, welcoming anyone interested in joining\, regardless of religious affiliation.\nWe will meet in Heritage Park (Corner of Market St. and Waverly Way) in Kirkland at 6:00am (free parking at 123 5th Ave)\, and journey together\, rain or shine\, around the north side of Lake Washington departing at 6:15am. Through this journey\, we aim to map the geography of Gaza onto Seattle\, making the distant reality of those living in Gaza more tangible and immediate to our local community.\nAs a spiritual journey and an act of protest\, participants are encouraged to reflect on the significance in their own way. There will be no collective religious exercises. We will be united by our journey and common desire for peace\, rather than specific religious practices. Together\, let’s take steps towards a future where peace and justice prevail for all.\nFULL DISCLOSURE: We have no resources to provide support for anyone who chooses to join us. We will simply provide our itinerary with an open invitation to anyone who wants to join for all or part of the walk. You are responsible for yourself and your needs.\nGaza Ceasefire Pilgrimage Objectives:\n1. Enduring and Sustained Ceasefire.\n2. Immediate flow of life saving food\, water\, aid\, fuel and humanitarian assistance.\n3. Release of all held prisoner or hostage.\n4. End of occupation so a just-peace can begin.\nRoute:\nThe route will be a loop starting in Kirkland\, circling around Lake Washington\, crossing the 520 bridge\, and ending back where we started in Kirkland. Exact route will be shared closer to the event. It will likely take between 10-12 hours depending on your walking speed and how many breaks you take. There will be no support vehicles.
