SUMMARY:Sahara Sounds at Spirit of Africa
DESCRIPTION:Spirit of Africa will take place in-person on Saturday\, May 13\, 2:00pm-8:30pm at the Armory Food & Event Hall. A virtual festival will be presented online on Friday\, May 12\, 6:00pm via Facebook and YouTube. The festival is part of the Seattle Center Festál series. It is free and open to the public. \nThe festival presents traditional and contemporary music\, a fashion show\, art\, food\, marketplace\, dance workshops\, and more! This year’s in-person event at Seattle Center is hosted by Thione Diop\, featuring performances by Zambuko Marimba Ensemble\, Sahara Sounds\, Hijos de Agüeybaná\, Eritrean Youth Dance Group of Seattle\, along with a fashion show and Afrobeats dance break with DJ Lace Cadence. \nSeattle Center Festál is a year-round series of 24 free cultural festivals\, produced in partnership with community organizations.
