Jen Marlowe \nFree with RSVP/$5 suggested donation \nRSVP for streaming link \nThere Is A Field tells the story of Asel Asleh\, an unarmed 17-year old Palestinian teenager who was murdered while participating in a demonstration calling for an end to Israeli occupation and settler-colonization. \nA play turned performance-reading film\, There Is A Field is performed by Black Lives Matter activists in the U.S.\, and is intercut with the activists’ own realizations of the parallels they see between Asel’s story and the experiences of BIPOC communities in the U.S. Amidst the ongoing Black Lives Matter uprising that reignited in recent months following the police murder of George Floyd\, There Is A Field provides a unique and timely lens for discussing decolonization\, Black liberation\, Black-Palestinian solidarity and cross-movement organizing. \nFollowing the screening\, we are pleased to be joined by director Jen Marlowe for a talkback. \nPalestine\, U.S.A. / 70 minutes / Documentary\, Performance / English \nFor questions\, e-mail Dave Serio\, Public Programming Specialist at dserio@accesscommunity.org.
