DESCRIPTION:Join us for a screening and discussion of Naila and the Uprising\, a Just Vision documentary\, with the Deputy Director and a Producer.\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout this Event\n\n\nJoin Museum of the Palestinian People for a special film screening and discussion of Naila and the Uprising with Just Vision’s Deputy Director\, Emma Alpert and one of the film’s producers\, Rula Salameh. \nNaila and the Uprising is a documentary film about a nation-wide uprising that breaks out in the Occupied Palestinian Territories\, and the story of a young woman in Gaza who must make a choice between love\, family\, and freedom. Undaunted\, she embraces all three\, joining a clandestine network of women in a movement that forces the world to recognize the Palestinian right to self-determination for the first time. Naila and the Uprising chronicles the remarkable journey of Naila Ayesh and a fierce community of women at the frontlines\, whose stories weave through the most vibrant\, nonviolent mobilization in Palestinian history – the First Intifada in the late 1980s. You can watch the trailer\, here. \nThe film will be available for registrants to view at their own convenience prior to our discussion with Emma and Rula on Zoom on Friday\, August 28 at 12pm EDT. All registrants will receive info to watch the film and join the Zoom conversation via email after they register. \nSuggested donation: $10.
