In this class Nadia Tommalieh will teach you how to make a traditional “sandweishet falafel” (falafel sandwiches) that will have you convinced you’ve traveled to the Arab world to eat them. You will learn about the different falafel variations of the region as she shows you how to get the perfect puff on your homemade khobez (pita bread)\, and how to achieve flavorful\, crispy falafel every time. This super delicious street food sandwich is never complete without a layer of fresh smooth hummus. You will top your piping hot sandwiches with tarator (tahini garlic sauce)\, tatbeeleh (jalapeno lemon sauce)\, Mkhalal left (pickled turnips) and salatah Arabia (Arabic style tomato and cucumber salad). \nPlease note: some classes can be adjusted for students with dietary restrictions\, but many cannot. If you’re vegetarian\, pescatarian\, or gluten-free\, you can use the drop-down menu on our events page to view the best classes to fit your needs.
