Nadia Tommalieh is the curator of a special kind of Palestinian hospitality\, and when you’re seated at her table\, you can’t help but forget the cold outside. Join us in class to make kobez arabi (fresh made pita bread) that you’ll use for baked arayes (seasoned ground meat and pomegranate molasses in a crispy pita pockets); laban bil na’na (mint yogurt sauce); mshaat with tatbeeleh (fried cauliflower and herb fritters); and shorabet freekeh bil krema (creamy freekeh\, corn\, and herb soup). \nPlease note: some classes can be adjusted for students with dietary restrictions\, but many cannot. If you’re vegetarian\, pescatarian\, or gluten-free\, you can use the drop-down menu on our events page to view the best classes to fit your needs. If a class you’re interested in doesn’t appear in that filtered view\, please email us before registering and we’ll see if the class’s menu can be modified.

SUMMARY:Bassem Youssef: The Middle Beast Tour
DESCRIPTION:Bassem Youssef was the host of popular TV show Al Bernameg – the first political satire show in the Middle East. Originally a 5-minute show on YouTube\, Al Bernameg became the first online-to-TV conversion in the Middle East and the most-watched show across the region with 30 million viewers every week\, and over a million subscribers to its YouTube channel. In recognition of his success\, Youssef was named among the Time Magazine most influential list for 2013 – under the “Pioneers” category\, was awarded the International Press Freedom Award by the CPJ\, and was chosen by Foreign Policy magazine as one of the global thinkers during the same year. Youssef currently performs his one-man show\, LATE FOR DEMOCRACY around the globe and the first title in Bassem’s upcoming children’s book series\, The Magical Reality of Nadia published on February 2nd\, 2021 by Scholastic and is currently being developed as an animated series. Bassem can be seen in MO (Netflix) and RAMY (Hulu) and just wrapped shooting a recur on UPLOAD (Amazon) as well as LIONESS for Paramount+. He lives in Los Angeles with his wife and two children. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTickets: $25-$35 \n\nShows starting at 9:30pm or later are 21+\, and shows starting earlier are 18+ with a valid ID.\nSeats only guaranteed until showtime. Ticket price is more expensive at the door (if any remain).\nPremium seating is in the front row of the balcony\, and front two rows.
