Her newly released anthology\, Heather Raffo’s Iraq Plays: The Things That Can’t Be Said\, brings together two decades of her most groundbreaking contributions to the American theater and speaks to the bravery required to be at the forefront of a movement. Her newest Migration Play Cycle\, her most ambitious theatrical imagining in scale and scope\, situates themes around migration and the global economy. This super delicious street food sandwich is never complete without a layer of fresh smooth hummus. You will top your piping hot sandwiches with tarator (tahini garlic sauce)\, tatbeeleh (jalapeno lemon sauce)\, Mkhalal left (pickled turnips) and salatah Arabia (Arabic style tomato and cucumber salad). \nPlease note: some classes can be adjusted for students with dietary restrictions\, but many cannot. SUMMARY:Break the Silence: Stories of Occupation Movies:  Boycott
DESCRIPTION:For several years the Saint Mark’s Mideast Focus Ministry has presented a series of film screenings each spring\, featuring a wide variety of films\, including documentaries\, dramas\, and comedies\, that address the history and current situation in Israel/Palestine\, as well as related justice issues. In 2021 and 2022 the film festival was offered almost entirely online\, but 2023 they will offer in-person screenings\, as well as hybrid options. As always\, each film will be followed by a lively discussion with special guests—often the filmmakers themselves\, or an expert in the topic of the film. Each screening and discussion will be offered on a Thursday evening.
