In this class Nadia Tommalieh will teach you how to make pita sandwiches that will have you convinced you’ve traveled to the Middle East to eat them. You’ll learn about the history of the region as she shows you how to get the perfect puff on your homemade pita, and how to achieve flavorful, crispy, falafel every time. Also on the menu is maqali, a lesser known, but incredibly delicious pita sandwich stuffed with fried eggplant, potatoes, cauliflower, and tatbeleh (jalapeno lemon sauce). You’ll top your sandwiches with a variety of condiments like hummus, tarator sauce, mkhalal lift (pickled turnips), and tomato cucumber salad.
