July 2 Street festival organized by the Somali Community Services of Seattle celebrating the 62nd anniversary of Somalia’s Independence Day
Come down to 5300 S Henderson St in Renton on July 2nd for a fun family-friendly street festival celebrating the 62nd anniversay of Somalia’s Independence Day! There will be vendors selling traditional Somali handicrafts and food, a large bouncy obstacle course, facepainting and henna, soccer, and a multitude of performances from Somali dancing to singing, DJs, and poets. There will also be various non-profit organizations with booths such as the International Rescue Committee and King County elections board.
This is a free event and no ticket is required but donations would be highly appreciated to further our work with the wider Somali and Oromos community!
The Somali Community Services of Seattle is a non-profit philanthropic organization dedicated to improving the quality of life of the Somali and Oromos community by supporting the Refugees and Immigrants in King County. We provide a range of services such as resettlement, employment, and citizenry assistance, but also youth and senior programs.
