Seattle: Shut It Down for Palestine

🚨SEATTLE: SHUT IT DOWN FOR PALESTINE THIS SATURDAY 1/20 🇵🇸

As part of the international day of action to #shutitdown4palestine, we will be demonstrating at the U-District light rail station to denounce the links between the publicly-funded Sound Transit and multinational conglomerate, Siemens, who works to enhance Israeli occupation and colonisation in Palestine.

Over $118,000,000 of our state taxes already directly fund the Israeli military, but unfortunately, our taxes and economy are even more intertwined with Zionist occupation and U.S. imperialism. In 2016/2017, Sound Transit entered into a $714,718,000 contract with Siemens to acquire 152 light rail vehicles. This is despite the fact that another company can produce the same vehicles and is not actively breaking international law by supporting Israeli occupation and colonialism.

Right now, the Sound Transit board is in the process of acquiring 10 more light rail vehicles from Siemens at the cost of over $96 million dollars, paid for by our tax dollars!

* We demand an end to the Sound Transit contracts with Siemens!

* Release all Palestinian prisoners!
