Location: University of Washington (details upon registration)
From July 8th – 12th, Muslim, Arab, Jewish, Christian, Israeli, Palestinian and US young people, teens, and adults came together to continue an important, long-term approach to peace-building at the University of Washington. This year our week-long children’s day camp will focus on TRAVEL, ancient and modern. Relationships between peoples and cultures develop as people explore their world through travel. We will explore our theme through art, science and educational projects and as always, we offer hands-on experiences with music, food and sports.
The Middle East Peace Camp for Children (MEPC) is a grassroots coalition of Arab and Jewish communities and our friends. Kadima is one of the three co-founders of the MEPC. MEPC is dedicated to embracing our common humanity while empowering youth through education, recreation, and leadership development. The camp takes a multifaceted approach to teaching the values of peacemaking through a focus on conflict resolution and human rights using creative arts, science, music, dance, sports, and language activities. We plant seeds of friendship and fun while emphasizing our commonalities and celebrating our differences! MEPC is a week-long summer day camp.
