History in Context: Understanding Palestine Today

The School of Educational Studies and the American Muslim Research Institute at the University of Washington Bothell invite you to a workshop (and professional development opportunity) for K-12 teachers interested in learning more on the topic of Palestine and Israel. This virtual teach-in will offer a crash course on the history of Palestine and Israel to enhance educators’ knowledge and competency in teaching and discussing issues on the topic. In addition, this workshop will offer tools and approaches on how to introduce and facilitate these conversations in the classroom. This workshop will be led by Professor Karam Dana, Associate Professor in the School of Interdisciplinary Arts & Sciences and founding director of the American Muslim Research Institute, in coordination with the School of Educational Studies at UW Bothell. Note: Two (2) continuing education clock hours (OSPI) are offered with this workshop for those interested in receiving them. (A $10 processing fee will be charged.)
