Join Nadia Tommalieh as she shares with you her family holiday traditions and guides you through making festive Arabic-style cookies. Perfect as an everyday treat with coffee or tea, these cookies might also become a staple of your holiday table for years to come.
In this hands-on class, you will learn how to make traditional Ka’ak Asawer (Palestinian-stuffed date cookies that are kneaded in olive oil and seasoned with cardamom and anise seeds); Ghraybeh (shortbread cookies with orange blossom water); and Barazek (roasted sesame and pistachio thins infused with mastic).
Class is limited to 11 people and is hands-on. Includes generous samples of cookies prepared in class (with enough to bring home!), plus a light snack, coffee or tea.
Students will be required to wear masks during the non-eating portions of class. Please note that event registration is non-refundable.
