Womxn Act – Naila and the Uprising

January 20, 2019 @ 1:30 pm - 4:00 pm UTC+0

NAILA and  the UPRISING

The remarkable journey of Naila Ayesh is documented here. She must choose between love, family and freedom – and chooses all three. She leads a clandestine movement of Palestinian women who play a pivotal role in the First Intifada. They forge a vibrant, non-violent mobilization of Palestinians that continues to this day.

Just Vision will host a screening of our award-winning documentary, Naila and the Uprising, as part of the Womxn Act on Seattle program on Sunday, January 20. The screening will take place at 1:30 pm at the Phinney Neighbourhood Association – Greenwood (6532 Phinney Ave N, Seattle, WA 98103).

Following the film, Jen Marlowe will be moderating a panel of activists, including Nada Elia, Maru Mora and Katrina Johnson, reflecting on how the film’s themes resonate with women in the Seattle area who have been in the fight for freedom, dignity and equality across movement struggles.
