Kuwaisiana is a bilingual alternative rock trio from Seattle-Tacoma, blending Arabic and English lyrics to create a unique sound that resonates globally. Led by +Aziz, whose Kuwaiti-American identity shapes the band’s music, Kuwaisiana explores themes of Arab identity, unity, and cultural bridging. Originally formed in New Orleans in 2016 as an 8-piece ensemble, the band evolved into a trio in 2022 with Yousef Shami (drums) and Brian Riedel (bass). Drawing from grunge, indie rock, funk, and punk, their music defies genre, addressing issues such as gentrification, climate change, and human rights. Through raw emotion and poetic lyrics, Kuwaisiana aims to foster cross-cultural understanding, while celebrating resilience and self-expression in the face of adversity. Their work continues to carve a space for Arab-American voices in the global music scene.
